I'm after a bit of help with my car colour, trying to get a touch up spray can for it but failing miserably

My car is this colour, which I always believed was Imperial Blue. In the flesh it looks blue/purple depending on the light

My code in the service book and on the boot sticker both say LS5S and I've tried to get some paint made up in this colour but it comes out black. As the S and 5 look very similar also tried L5S5 but this wasn't right at all

Went to VW (no Seat dealer near me anymore) to ask them if they had any idea what it should be but they were clueless. They tried the code anyway and it came up with another name for blue again, Arctic blue

What colour is my car? What colour paint do I need for a touch up can, what paint code would be the best match?

I'm getting kind of annoyed now as had enough time over the bank holiday to sort out some of the paint issues too! At least I didn't pay for the multiple attempts at making my colour

yep Imperial Blue that. :)

If you get your paint code off the car's manual or the white sticker under the carpet in the boot, you could go to a professional body shop paint suppliers and they will make you a colour matched pot up. Usually £10 - £20 at the most.

There is a bit more detail in the other one, basically tried getting paint mixed but it comes out black. Had a look at someone else asking about paint codes and his code for imperial blue is different to mine too.

Do I just PM and ask them to merge it?

Yeah, Halfords first and then went to VW to see what they knew, turned out nothing.

At least I got my Touran rear wiper arm I've been waiting 3 months for, had been sat in the back of the workshop with my name on yet they never bothered to ring me and everytime I went in claimed nothing there for me yet! The thick layer of dust on the packet disagrees!!!

I'll have a look for the Holts can, was it one you had mixed or an off the shelf jobby?

Sorry for the questions and thanks for the help!

Imperial Blue is S5N, my Toledo is Imperial Blue. S5S isn't listed anywhere I can see, nor is Arctic Blue. S means Seat and the 5 means its a blue, though.

Bit weird about the code, definitely says LS5S, no N's in there and both are printed the same. Perhaps its a miss print, does the sticker in the boot get printed at the same time as the one in the manual?

Do you have a link to a list of all the colour codes or is it just personal knowledge? Might be interesting to have a look through.

On another note fitted the Touran wiper and arm, 2 minutes and what a difference, no juddering and shifts the water, well worth it

ANNIVERSARY BLUE 1G S5S

Must be slightly different shade, going off the picture it looks like Imperial Blue, but photos can be misleading.

Certainly a code exists for S5S as above.

ANNIVERSARY BLUE 1G S5S

Does the 1G mean anything different to the L part? And do you have a link to where you found this info, googling hasn't really helped me so far.

Anyway, sounds like we're getting somewhere, though I've had a trawl through pc and found another old pic of car. I can post it up if anyone thinks it will help but it just looks the same shade as the original pic and I don't think either of those do the actual colour justice

Ahh, thanks for that, I tried searching "paint codes" but I'm ashamed to admit I never thought of searching for the actual paint code on here (its been a long week and I was on nights!)

As its now confirmed as an actual colour code will go ahead and order a touch up can
