Think my car is needing a new battery and just been looking on the “inter web” and not really sure what to go for …… wanting something with little more power then standard maybe with running some extra lights and HIDS etc … just wounding what batters you have on your LCR etc … and what you would recommend don’t really want to spend more than £50- £60 or is that not going to happen? :ban: lol…… any help would be great!

HIDs draw less power than standard halogen bulbs - maybe if you were planning on running running lots of ice though?

Also you can generally buy any battery that will fit into the tray - just look out for CCA (cold cranking amps) the higher the better, this is the measure of how long it can hold a specific voltage for 30sec at 0degC, the CCA is important to starting the car in the mornings.

Also look out for the AmpHr rating and reserve capacity.

I like VARTA batteries - they've never let me down before!

P.S. If you go into any motor factors they have a cross-reference guid so can tell you all the batteries that will physically fit and their associated ratings. You can then choose on price.

Yep this is what I did last week when fitting battery to my misses car........about 60% of the price of Halfrauds to.
