What Battery For Std Key Remote ?

200bhp

Guest
Hi, I have searched and found conflicting info.

What battery no. should I have ?

I have a CR2016 (which seems very thin) fitted.

Others seem to have a CR2032

Thanks

Thanks...

That makes sense as it seemed too thin and its not working.

Will get a new batt and try to re code again.

2016
20 = 20mm diameter
16 = 1.6 mm wide

so half as thin as a 2032 ;)

early cars came with 2*2016 but later on changed to 1*2032 and a few at first had problems with em - we used to change it to 2*2016's and the seemed more reliable

Fl@pper, I've tried several times to use 2x2016's in my fob, and it never works.

I put them in "series" so to speak - so it's +/-/+/- with them on top of each other - just wont work, yet when I put the 2032 back in it works fine?

I don't think I'm doing it wrong, but can you confirm?
Thanks mate

used to do it daily

sounds like they in right + facing up yer ?

both need to be at least 2.95v though - even new ones can be flat quite often

Yeh, both +ve facing upwards.

Done it with some batteries I have here in the drawer (new) and some BRAND NEW duracell jobbies, but still couldnt get it to work.

Anyway - that said - my 2032 has been in for the last 3 years and not gone flat yet, so I'd say that's pretty good going :)
