Handed the keys over this morning to my local SEAT dealer, so i can have my warranty list work done (and it is some list!!)

Got a Altea 1.9 Ref Sport for the day, i must say isn't the 1.9 really smooth compared to the 2.0!! i cannot believe how nice and "refined" the engine is.

Only downside was it cost me £25 to insure for the day where an Ibiza 1.4 would only cost me £10!

Spent most of this morning looking for insurance as its due on Sunday.
Got a pretty nice deal with BRENTACRE £1036.
21 Years Old, licence for 4 years, 1 year NCD, No points / claims.
Not the cheapest quote i have had, but i can do any mods to the car (apart form engine) and it wont cost me any extra. Anything done to the engine (ie remap) will cost me £180.

Just waiting for the dreaded "whats wrong" phone call now!

Try elephant, i got a quote for a Altea 2.0tdi sport of £500, their quite reasonable on mods as well. I'm 25, licence 7 years, 2 ncb and 3 points

Elephant will accept your mods maybe, but in the event of a claim they only pay out on the standard equipment. To the point where another forum member ended up with standard headlights instead of his "factory option" xenons after a front end shunt. Be vary careful with Elephant.

well SEAT called me late on this afternoon and i didn't have time to go and pick the car up.

I know she has got to go back in next week for a new AC pump / fan and new windscreen as they couldn't get hold of them part today.

Not report on my other issues so i will have to see what they say in the morning.

1) Clicking from under glove box when AC is on
2) Intermittent power steering failure
3) Steering wheel not straight (courtesy car is the same! how odd!)
4) 5mm of white at bottom of windscreen
5) low mpg and intermittent smoke on acceleration

when you say low mpg, how low are you talking about?

some smoke under acceleration is normal from a tdi, what diesel are you using, supermarket or bp ultimate etc?

Using Shell V-Power diesel for fuel and also getting about 32mpg! (its only been like this for about a week and i always use v-power.
