Water temperature and engine management lights.

My daughters 2011 1.2 TSI Ibiza with about 90k on the clock with extensive service history has developed a peculiar fault.

The water temperature and the engine warning lights come on even when the car is cold and stay on all the time.
The car takes several attempts to crank over before it starts however once running it drives quite well but my daughter says there's a vibration that seems to be coming from the engine.

Greenflag ran a diagnostic check a couple of days ago and said that there are no error codes logged and he confirmed that the oil and water levels are OK.

This may sound a bit vague as I haven't seen the faults for myself as my daughter is not local to me.

If you can help that would be great.

The engine coolant temperature sensor might be giving out a constant "hot" temperature and so forcing these lights to be on, but not faulty enough to force a "sensor failed/faulty" fault code.

Someone who has a car with that version of engine might come along with a better reply or where the sensor is located.

Edit:- it is not surprising that it is taking longer than necessary to start as the engine management system thinks that the engine is hot and so not supplying extra fuel to assist in cold starting. It should restart when hot okay though with this fault.
