Hi Guys,

I'm sure I read something about the plastic impellor failing in the waterpump on mk3 ibizas but I can't find the thread anywhere. What is the situation with them?

Thanks

the situation is that the water pumps on ibiza and leons are known to be a weak point. in that the plastic impellor fails often.
also, if one goes, it makes sense to get the brass impellor type and do the cam belt and tensioner at the same time as this comes off to change to pump.

just use the search function on here, there is loads of info on here.

what info do you need exactly?

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but i've recently bought an ibiza on 56k miles and i thought i best change the water pump and cambelt. Just wondered do SEAT sell the brass impellor pumps or do you have to purchase them from somewhere else?

Thanks in advance

think the new ones are metal now mate. Think someone said it doesnt show as metal on the system but is when it arrives.

Mine went at 58k and luckily the day before it was booked in for its cambelt change! Overtheats pretty quickly :s

seat in inverness said they could only supply the standard part (plastic impelor) as the metal impelor part is aftermarket and tecnicaly not a genuine part
