Hi guys,

Bit of a quick query.

My mate has an 03 LCR, he is having problems with coolant levels.

He claims he's topping it up every couple of weeks because the gauge light comes on and starts beeping.

I had a quick look (side of road) but couldn't find any leaks. He has told me today that he has water leaking from the joint in the exhaust after the cat????

This isnt normal I know, I have had a search and came up with either:

Water Pump Problem (but no overheating at all)
Head Gasket Problem (but no water in oil or oil in water)
Condensation (but too much water to be condensation)

At the moment we are baffled. Any ideas guys???

Thanks in advance for any help.

i herd if the car throwing out water through the exhuast is a good sign ;)
check all you water pipes that are linked to the engine and water tank for leaks.
You may have air lock as well. To fix this fill the tank correctly with both antifreeze, keep the engine running with top off. This will allow any air trapped to escape and water to cerculate properly. My mates bmw had a similer issue

there could be a leak some where, near the water pump or the hoses. it must be near exhaust joint.
get the car put on a ramp.
rev it and you may see when its appearing from

I have been to see the leak this morning and it is coming from the joint at the rear end of the CAT to the rear pipework.

We dried it all up and watched it for 5 mins and it started dripping again.

There is no water runs fron the engine. the joint/drip is half way down the car.

Yeh that needs to be replaced. these pipes are mainly order from seat dealers. get checked my mechnic to confirm and he tell exact whats causing it. you dont want to replce something that is not broken.

Well this seams abit harder as possible internal leak from the water pump. Needs to be checked bya mechanic who will trace the porblem properly.
