Water Leak

I have had my first stab today at repairing what I think is a leaking door seal!
Not being used to working on cars I was surprised how easy it was and I must also confess I used silicon sealant as kindly explained by Andy Tech, fingers crossed this works?
I will keep the leaky brigade informed on my progress and it certainly beat paying the stealers.

Did you have water in the drivers side footwell?

Let us know how you got on with that, I washed my car last week and the drivers side was soaked! Seems to be getting worse!

Hi chaps

I had water in the passenger rear door foot well and it was soaked when i got the car, when I had a closer look at the rear door i could see no evidence of water coming in through the back door, I then checked the front passenger door and this is where I found the water coming in, water was all along the bottom edge of the plastic door rim your see the 2 torque screws at the bottom of this panel.
I washed the car yesterday and I could see no evidence of water so fingers crossed its fixed!
It took me 15 mins to strip the panel down and unscrew the 10mm bolts, 10 mins to get the clear silicon along the edge of the seal (seal was totally warn down!) and 25 min trying to get the door panel back on lol
In truth if I was to do another door then it should only take 40mins max and if I do it again I will take some pics!

Good luck with yours and once you see the seal you will know what I mean!

I have washed the car twice and it has also been left out in the rain over night since re-sealing the door and the passenger well is still dry, so a little success.
Thanks again to the forum!
