Just experimenting (arsing about) with my engine today and I unplugged this pipe....

And the result was this wastegate chatter.

Now I know this sounds very nice but is it healthy?!

That's upgrading though isn't it?

What's being asked her is similar to "Does my car need a IC? Should I just unplug it?" not, "Shall I upgrade it for a better one?"

exactly!

there is a big difference between adding something to your car and removing something!

Is this one of the pipes along with the one connected to the dv (new vac source required!) that would be blocked of when removing the n249??

Well, I disconnected the big plastic reservoir ages ago and blocked the pipe with an allen key. I just pulled it out to see what would happen really... I tend to fiddle with things like that and mostly break them. Needless to say its now back to normal. :)

if the pipe is bunged it'll be fine but as you've found if its open it'll stop a vacuum being formed in the rest of the connected system so there will be no vacuum to help open the dump valve it'll just be sucking in air from the engine bay probably cause fuel trim problems eventually and a knacked turbo
