my mate managed to spill banana milkshake on my back seats a couple of weeks ago and now it smells like something has died in there!

ive washed it several times with various products, might try some carpet cleaner later, but it still stinks - i have to drive with the windows open

has anyone got any bright ideas or know of any wonder products?

im tempted to remove the seat fabric and stick it through the washing machine but im worried about it coming out a different shape / size!

has anyone done this before? is it even possible to get the fabric off?

Try putting Bicarbonated soda on the affected area, leave an hour, then hoover off (should remove the smell). Then get some sort of fabric spray (the foam stuff is normally good - you can even get some actual car seat foam), then clean it with that.

Failing that, take it for a valet

thanks chris, ill try the bicarb later... the foaming fabric spray hasn't had much effect even after three treatments

if that doesnt work my mate will be paying for a valet :)

Bicarb should work, you need to really rub it into the seats and leave it for a few hours then vacuum off. If its smelly you can also mix lavender flower heads with it too. Vanish spray is also quite good for getting rid of stains.
