Warranty Issuses relating to mods

Ive had a neuspeed induction kit fitted to my cupra R...

went into the dealers the other day for a temp sensor replacement (green jobby).

they said. that the air filter has voided my warranty in relaltion to that 'area' of the car.

I find this hard to believe.... i spoke to simon from revo and he assured me that the only part of the 'warranty' that is void is the airfilter housing etc itself. and that there has been cases where dealers have been taken to court over this and customers have won.

Im not really sure im going to take my car back there. If i do have any problems with the car, cant i just put the old housing back on and take it to another dealership?

what pisses me off most is the fact that they get paid for warranty work, maybe its cos the service manager is quite 'old skool'.

anyone recommend a good dealer (not that there are many) in the south east?

maybe i should give SEAT UK a ring about warranties?

It really shouldn't affect the warranty. Only the 'airbox' warranty should be affected as this has been replaced. I'd put it back to normal and go to another SEAT dealer :)

Put it back to normal before you go to another, just hope that on the system you havent got a black mark against the car, for any warranty stuff put as much back to stock as you can.

Take it to another dealer WITH the induction kit on it - then feel a warm glow inside while your coolant temperature sensor is replaced without question...

Your dealer is absolutely WRONG!
you have a choice to make a scene or go elsewhere and tell anyone you know how bad they are (and tell the dealer your doing so also)

Muppets.

Suggest said dealer muppet goes back on his VAG warranty course.

(same course where they will be explained block exception and servicing can be carried out by anyone without effecting warranty!)

Westerham Seat in Westerham are superb great service, friendly and very willing to help. They are aware of the mods that are around and seem not to bat an eyelid. They're currently replacing my gearbox on warranty
