Evening all

Driving home from work just and the preheating system warning light has been flashing.

Will phone the dealer in the morning to get it booked in.

Problem is I do a 100 mile round trip to work each day is this a big problem and I shouldn't be using the car until it's fixed ?

The engine is a pd150

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

As stupid as it sounds, but I think it can sometimes be a problem with your brake lights. Or at least that's what the problem was on mine when it started flashing at me. They ordered me a new brake light switch and all was well again. :)

Great call

Just been outside to check and it appears I have no brake lights. :-o

Think I best get a lift to work tomorrow rather than making my way up the m6 with no brake lights.

Damnit - beaten to it. :D

Most likely it will be the brake sender switch under the brake pedal. I had a dodgy one too on my fabia and it turned out Skoda knew something was funny and released a modded/uprated one, which I now have fitted.

Same thing happened to me last week, brake light failure, nothing to worry about

When my bulb went on my brake lights, everytime I pressed the breaks, my headlights would come on !!??!!

Had similar on a Renault that I borrowed once, the fillament on the twin brake / tail light bulbs had failed and melted to the other, so when the brake light system was energised (when braking) the whole cicuit was fed as it was getting power from the brake switch thus bringing on all the lights.

Yeah, but you kind of expect that with a Renault.

:D Yes, electrical reliability was one reason I discounted Lagunas when deciding what estate car to buy...shame as they come loaded with kit at really good prices !

Back on topic, I've seen loads of posts about brake switch failures...
