Vortex Generators

Right after seeing the pic of Soamers car:

(sorry if you didn't want attention bringing to your car soamer )

Anyway's I was thinking if I was to put these on my car it might reduce the drag which my F2 rear wing has on my car. The wing on my car reduces my top end speed by 10-15% and I wondered if these fins which cost £14 off ebay would make any difference or are they just a gimmick?

Or have I been suckered in and these fall under the ecotek valve and resister 10bhp mod?

For more information on them check out the manufacturers website:

After reading:
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/corporate/about_us/technology/review/e/pdf/2004/16E_03.pdf

It would seem they are for sedan's so the car best suited for them would be a cordoba with a big rear wing like the Mitsubishi Evo that these little fins where tested on.

Without having access to a wind tunnel myself I doubt these would prove useful on mine. Unless I bought a set and attached them to some thin material board then duck taped the board in several places on the car and took it for a drive and see what difference it made. Then again its a 1.4 and the effect it will have would be pointless.

I don't think your rear wing is going to make much difference on a 1.4 mate, and i dont think thoses evo type things will work at all

unless you have an evo maybe? :D

Thats a clean GTI - just a pitty about a few minor 'add ons'

I cant see those generators being a great help tbh, especially on a 1.4?
