Voice-dial with Factory Fit Bluetooth?

I've got the factory-fit bluetooth stereo and a Motorola V3i.

Anyone know how to get voice dialling to work without manually adding contacts to the stereo's phonebook?

After searching the forum, I found that I needed to copy all my phone contacts to the phone (they were on the SIM before), for the car to see them.

I can now see the contacts on the MFD, and select and dial them using the steering wheel and stalk controls.

I can't use voice commands to select or dial the contacts though. The stereo just responds with 'the phonebook is empty'.

Seems like the stereo can see the contacts on my phone, but hasn't downloaded them to its own memory.

Anyone know a solution for this? The manual isn't much help.

That's gonna take hours.

The neighbours are going to think I'm a right tit, sat outside talking to the car.

Not good design.

Oh, well.

That made me laugh.......my neighbours must have thought I was mad trying to have a conversation with my car at the weekend.......
