Hi

On the steering wheel, right side, there's an icon with a head and sound coming from it, and I just came to think what it is - is it voice control? - nothing happens when pressing it/holding it, no sound feedback or anything.

My car only has the standard media system colour/touch (I think it is called) - does that support voice control at all?

Yes it's voice control. I never use it but when I accidentally press the button it's hard work trying to switch off, well at least it was until the other day I shouted at it "Turn off f**king voice control" and it worked

It takes a second to come on after you press the button. It will come up with a screen on the MMI of a list of commands

It does not work with entry level 5.0" screen multimedia system. You need to have 5,8" or 6,5" MIB

Thanks, that was what I suspected. Not even FR version here in Denmark comes with those MIB units as standard:(

I wouldn't be too envious, I absolutely hate the voice control function in mine. It cannot understand a word I say.

It has literally never once done what I've asked. It's truly dreadful.

Some of my passengers enjoy the entertainment of trying it out though, it can be hilarious to see what it thinks you've said sometimes.

Works quite well in mine which is surprising as I am Scottish, though I only use it to select a particular music track I want to hear....

Well, all my life I've believed myself to have an Oxfordshire accent. Until I bought a Seat and quickly learnt I wasn't even speaking English. :D

Seems as i am not missing out much..... Though having a dummy button doing nothing, is just not very satisfactional

I find a lot of this new tech quite gimmicky and completely useless most of the time. My 4 year old enjoys shouting at the voice control very much which is quite entertaining and a good way of establishing what profanities he has learnt at school.

I wish there was a way to change the voice on the sat nav, the posh bird really annoys me.

Apple CarPlay is pretty good though.

are there many different accents in Turkey? the way we speak such different English it's almost like a completely different dialect, or even language.
No, not like English. There are a few differences but it can understand me better than siri :)
