For the sake of under £100 more, surely you would be better off going for a tuner who has proven good feedback.

There are plenty of supporting tuners on here, you have to think of the safety of every part of your engine, not just the initial power improvement ;)

All remap companys deserve a go if you feel comfortable with the way they handle your enquiries and support they offer in the event of a problem, but for peace of mind it's always nice to pay a bit extra for something a dozen or so people have tried without problem.
It's your money at the end of the day, but i always say that buying the cheapest normally means you buy twice.
Good luck what ever you decide on.

well yeah i agree with your point mork
but its always good to have a wider scope in an area youwork in
like if you make windows its good to know a little about structure ;)

but i think their opinions come from beond work related it also comes from personal experience as mat has had some VERY impressive cars

mat has had some VERY impressive cars

again, to harp on about it - I know some people who have got some very nice cars between them. but spending all your money on a car doesn't mean you make the right choices, or have a valid opinion.

To take 'custom' tuning as an example - as a minimum it's a days work (custom-code quote 2-3 days for a proper custom map)

but Venom offer this same level of service for £200? that's like £20/hr once you take the VAT off. barely worth getting out of bed for as a business.

Which leaves you in two camps

"wow, that's cheap."

"hmm, that's not a custom map - he must have bought the maps on a VD and is just uploading to cars, and not actually customising them at all"

I don't want to sound like I'm pissing on your chips, but with less than £100 outlay on some hacked kit I could 'offer' remaps for pennies, but that doesn't mean that it's a good idea.

Agreed. I know some guys in the trade with amazing machines, but they have NO technical knowledge, just good business skills, but I know they wouldn't be let near my car!

A ''true'' custom map will take 1 - 3 days to develop and perfect. We had a member with a modded MK3 Ibiza Cupra a couple of weeks back, and were mapping it from 9am - 4pm

oh yeah well bell autos is at the top of my list at the moment but i have also had people saying very similar things about pete too (no offense pete)

but some people have said that he has had a couple of mis haps or something where its not gone too well.
Personally i have heard nothing bad but if people dont try these smaller guys out and let others know we will never know
