I got my car second hand and it has 'Tracker Fitted' stickers on the window. Does anyone know where the actual tracker would be located? Just wondering if it actually has one or if it just has the stickers. I know I have to pay the subscription, but would be mroe inclined to if I know there is actually a Tracker fitted :)

to be honest it could be effectively ANYwhere by design too

each fitter will/would have their own idea of where to hide it with the plan being it's not easily accessible to remove it ;)

if it was widespread knowledge where it was there would be no point having one

sorry

Installers fitting tracker have to sign a code of conduct, a secrecy act basically and the only person who knows where the tracker is fitted will be the installer and tracker HQ. They may not even disclose it to the owner of the vehicle, i know the chap i dealt with would not disclose the location to the owner when they picked their vehicle up. As for tracing wires from the battery good luck. I know a few ways in which these are fitted and i'm not going to discuss them on here for obvious reasons but the fact is you don't really need to know. Tracker can test the unit to see if its working and thats all you really need. Obviously if your car as just got stickers then it won't be registered with Tracker.

What i can tell you is they work brilliantly and have recovered several vehicles this way, and have even picked up boosted signals from 30 odd miles away.

Well I'll have a look for it and see what I can find. I can see why they might not disclose the location to the owner but, on the other hand, it is my car and if I don't want it there then they should let me remove it. Or at least remove it for me. Or maybe the previous owner had it removed before I brought the car.

Think I will have a look through the Tracker t&c - there must be something about this in there.

Thanks for your help :)

Tracker are low life SCUM

That's a little harsh. It was your choice not to subscribe......

they took my money took all details said thats fine we will send you your book pack in the post.

so i then thought i had become a member. (wouldn't you if they took al your details and money)

then to ring thetheft number they gave me to find out someone hasnt done there job properly and that they cant provide me with this service as i have owned the car for longer than a month i then told them that i had only found the documents in owners manual a sticker stating car has tracker i never knew previous to this, there reply was its not my problem.

the police phoned and asked them to relase the details of where my car is as they believe its a group stealing cars to order as there have been more than normal and 2 cars were stolen from my address in same night if they find one they think they will find many cars there.
and tracker said no, so after more arguning and speaking to managers thy are going to refund my money.

they were quick enough to take my card details but not quick enough to press one button after telling me if they wanted they could tell me where my car was within 20 seconds talk about rub it in my face and the police were powerless.
