Hi,
I'm posting this on behalf of one of my colleagues at work (an ex-VAG technician) who owns an Audi 80 on an L-Plate, it’s a 1.9TDi (1Z Engine Code).
It currently has a fault where when you press the accelerator fully, it has no effect on the engine until approx 3-4 secs later when it revs to the limiter then back to idle.
We have access to a 1552 rather than vagcom, and there are no stored DTCs.
The only thing that possibly seems out of place currently, is whilst reading the engine ECU (01), and reading live data from Block 2 column 2 (%) to check the action of the throttle pedal (which performs absolutely as expected).
I’m interested in what block 2 column 3 represents…
It displays as:
0 1 0
for most of the time, but when the fault occurs with the car (usually most the way down the throttle pedals travel) this column reads:
0 0 0
According to ELSA this column represents “Operating Condition” on a 1Z engine code. And it should only display :
0 1 0
or
1 1 1
If anyone could help point me towards anything that might be causing this it would be much appreciated, as it’s now causing us some serious headaches, and getting a bit embarrassing not being able to cure it!
Many thanks in advance!
Martin
