Vag-com stopped working?

Right guys here's a good one for you.

Bought a new laptop that has windows vista on not sure if that makes a difference, and borrowed a usb cable from a mate indentical to thishttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-KKL-409-1-VAG-COM-VW-AUDI-OBD-OBD2-Interface-Cable_W0QQitemZ200152435425QQihZ010QQcategoryZ14968QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Went through the usual set up and com testing, ok. Started vag-com had a look at the fault codes, cleared them then went to look at the brakes section and that's when it just fell over, the vag-com screen went white and shut down.

Now it doesn't open at all. has anyone seen this before??

I dinna cain much aboot vag com but do you not have to register it to one laptop only?

Make sure theres no com point conflictions. in device manager.

i am also havin this same problem on vista using same cable aswell, works on my friends xp laptop which makes me think its to do with crapy vista,

Version 409 is NOT Vista compatible and we have several reports like yours.

i have managed to get this working fine on vista i disabled the program control access in the control pannel and it worked, hope this helps
