my brother had this done on his MK5 golf and it transformed it- his words, he moved to the sporty setting, dealer was going to charge £25 so he waited until service time and got it done for nowt.
I was thinking about this today actually, is the setting on the Leon (FR) much lighter than the GTI? Would be nice to have some more feel through the wheel, Im hoping this will help.
yep, vagcom can change the steering weight! iirc (for ibiza) go to the steering assist module. and the number: 00121 is the lightest and 00151 heaviest....change the number accordingly, change only the second digit from the right
anyone changed there steering settings on a Mk1 leon(150TDI).ARL
Cant seem to change mine, go into steering assist module but cant accesss the module..??
went into my local Seat garage and VW garage to ask about making the steering heavier and niether of them knew what i was on about, wasnt surprised really so gunna try another Seat garage which is about 20 mins away. If they are as useless i guess i'll have to find someone closeby who will help me out with Vagcom
Did the same at our Audi dealership and I got the impression that they thought I had mental issues. Was told promptly it would be impossible to do such a thing. Told them it was possible on SEAT's (a VAG car), and they said it must be SEAT specific. Verdict: Dealers talk.....

Nope, not yet. Expecting much of the same from the rest of the dealerships, so waiting until the car goes to Dialynx when I have the DV fitted. Maybe they can work it out
Keeping it SEAT specific, mk2 Leons and mk4 Ibizas have an electrical/mechanical steering system rather than the purely mechanical system on the previous generation cars.
