VAG-COM questions

I've got a 1.9TDi and just bought an unofficial usb cable, I've got VAG COM working sort of, not all of the control modules work and the two that I really need to work, 35 and 46, are coming up as cannot find controller or something of the like.
Also if someone can tell me how to get into those modules would someone also be able to tell me how to code my remote key fob to the car using VAG COM too?

Thanks :)

edit:
Or, is there anyone in the Doncaster area with VAG-COM that could do it for me or help me out? that would be very appreciated.

come on, someone's got to know the answer to this, or this is a pretty useless car enthusiasts site when nobody knows anything.

LOL!! Nice :)

yeah sorry about that :) was having a bad day.

Thanks for the guide link, now I just have to get into those modules.
Thanks to whoever moved this post to the VAG-COM section but I've got two threads here now, looks like I'm flooding! sorry :(

Existing key, when I bought it the remote was dead, changed the battery and it wasn't sync'd anymore, following the guide in the manual didn't work or the ones on the forum I found.

The alarm indicator on the car flashes constantly so I'm thinking it may be a problem with the alarm not the key, but with the module not accessible I can't check for error codes, so that's the thing I really need to fix.

Would detaching the battery and leaving the systems to discharge for a few hours reset it in any way and let me access them? or is it likely because I've got a cheap cable from ebay, though that doesn't explain why some work and some don't..

Have you tried disconnecting the car battery to try reset everything on the ECU.?

People who's windows stop working and other mad problems are sometimes sorted by taking battery off 30mins and reconnecting. (just make sure you leave the drivers door off the latch or something so you can get back in if anything else weird happens)

Well, I've settled on there being a problem that I can't fix.

I took the battery off for an hour and reconnected, the alarm indicator light stopped flashing, the car doors started unlocking automatically when the key is removed from the ignition (Which it had stopped doing too)
Still couldn't get into the modules in VAG-COM, tried resynching the key using the manual guide and bam, alarm indicator started flashing again, doors stopped unlocking manually, back to where I was before.

Soooo, I've booked it into the garage, I give up, goign to spend some money to get it fixed.

Problem is, it's been ECU remapped, so if they flash the ECU to fix it I'll kill them....
