VAG-COM Options

I'm gonna get a USB lead for my lappy so when i get remapped I can turn off (basically for when the other 'not-so-good' half) dunt kill the car with a heavy right foot.

Would this do what I want?

Or is this just for reading info? After doing a search I see loads of people having no luck at all with ebay leads, I want to buy one that works lol and does the remap on/off capabilities.

my experience with ebay cables wasnt good. the usb drivers sucked monkey balls! just grab a few people and chip in for a proper one i did

as far as i am aware you cannot switch off a remap with vag-com. i think you would need to have a switchable map like revo and an sps device.

If you're after a REVO then just buy an SPS device which allows you too turn it on and off.....

If you have a custom code map on the TDI it is switchable with Vagcom.
I do it from time to time as a day of driving without the map makes the car feel so much quicker when its back on.
Takes about 3 mins to do, so well worth it. Doesn't work on any other remap that i know of.

Did you get your cable from Ebay? Or a proper top price cable?

Ive got an ebay cable and its fine.
