Have a look here at '1.8' on the FAQ page... http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/faq_1.html You may be able to get it to work...

Not knowing anything about computers or the software, I can't really give a definate answer. Sorry :(

I'm sure someone on here will know - I think there are a few Ross-Tech people on this forum :)

Nearly. I use Parallels Desktop for Mac. http://www.parallels.com/

Obviously this only works if you have an Intel based Mac. Older macs that use IBM/Motorola processors are not compatible.

Parallels works a treat though, i use it with an offical Ross-Tech HEX-USB+CAN lead.

I'm pretty sure you can probably use Apple's Boot Camp as MarkE suggests also. Boot Camp is a free beta at the moment from Apple. But is slated to be part of the next OSX revision 10.5, from then on the beta is expected to expire.

I prefer Parallels though, because i do not need to reboot the Mac into WinXP. I can just run WinXP from within OSX the same time.

Sadly mac's have such a low share of the world pc market, small software developers like Ross-Tech need to be where the money is for their particular niche market.

Since Apple switched to Intel chips, they have opened up a new raft of programs that were once only the domain of windows.

There is no better time than the present to own a new Intel Mac. Best of all worlds.

As I say i used it with an official VAG-COM USB lead. I can't guarantee that it will work with third party leads.

Earlier versions of Parallels wouldn't work, but the new desktop 3.0 edition works just fine.

Think the easiest option for me is to get a version and use it on my dads laptop which is running windows xp.

Cheers for the info though guys much appreciated.
