Vag com`d a LCR Possible coilpack?

*** just had my mate round to scan his LCR with vagcom, Im a total n00b to vagcom literlly got it yesterday so a little unsure what im looking for?

It came up with these faults once scanned

17968 Maximum engine speed exceeded, Now *** read up on this and understand theres nothing to worry about as he`s just had it remapped and proberly revved the tits off of it. Correct me if im wrong

17763 - p1355 - 35 - 10,- intermittent Is this a coilpack gone in cylinder 1? or would the coilpack poped off?

17766 - p1358 - 35 - intermittent 10 Same as above but cylinder 2?

Shouldn't this be posted in the Leon Mk1 section, as it's an LCR you're asking about...

Maybe so... but as its a 1.8T i assume they would flag the same fault codes as the ibiza and as i own a Ibiza cupra i thought id post it in here as this is my regular section. And i know some of the lads in here are pretty clue`d up on vag com in here....

clear the codes mate....then take it for a drive and see if they come back...

could be old codes..

Nah not old codes mate as he had it remapped 2 weeks ago by p torque and had no faults then plus he said its missing really bad!

sounds like coil packs then

Swap coilpacks 1 & 2 for 3 & 4, clear codes, and see if they re-appear on cylinder 3 & 4.

As for the 1st code, maximum engine speed exceeded!!

Constant missfire? Or at a certain point in the rev range?
If the later then try plugs if constant 99% coilpack failure. As Tom said, try swapping coil 4 for 1 see if a code appears for that cylinder

Sorted now on his way down to me yesterday he had the EML come on, So we cleared the faults and took it for a run was missfireing at 3k rpm we we got back scanned it again and it came up that cylinder 1 had a misfire! he`s since changed the coilpack and all is well.
