vacuum central locking

Hi all,

Have a problem at the moment, the central locking has packed up. I have worked out that the central locking is a vacuum system and I can actually hear a leak behind the door card when I lock and unlock.

Can anyone shed any light on how to remove the drivers side door card? Cant see any obvious way apart from just ripping it off!! I have worked out that the pump for the system is in the boot and that it works on a pressure system going around the car depending on which way you turn the key.

Anyone help?

Depending on the model there is an inner cover around the door pull. If you prise this out there are two big screws. There's also one or two under the speaker grill ( and a screw on the bottom edge to hold the grille on )

After you've removed these the door card pops off as it's held on with clips.

Before you do that though check it's not coming from the join where the connector is for the wiring in the door. It sounds like one of the vaccum pipe joins has popped off.
