i've done a quick search and not really found what i was looking for i want to do an engine swap on my cordy and was thinking of putting in a v5 what power upgrades can you get other than the usual ie filter, exhaust and remap
i'm looking at tryin to get 250-300bhp is that possible out of a v5?

the base engines are a long way off that. what level of change are you prepared to go to?
I think there is German company that have supercharged one, although i am not sure of the output from that.
Why don't you try and drop a VR6 engine in? Thats what it is based on after all!

You really can't do much unless you are going to spend an awful lot of money (like several times the value of the car):

I've also read that open filters are not such a good idea. Remap and exhaust will probably gain 20bhp. Remap alone 15. Beyond that you are looking at the serious money route referred to above.
