I have recently purchased a mtc induction kit to swap with my neuspeed as it is too loud for my liking, now I have seen people tape up the stainless piping on similar kits e.g itg, amd etc. So I went on eBay and bought this as I thought its good value for the price plus I have bought stuff from them before, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Demon-Twe...ts_Vehicles_Automobila_ET&hash=item5652e08660
What are the benefits if any in taping up the stainless piping and the heat shield?

I cant see any benefit from just using that stuff as it's effectively sticky back tin foil you need something thermally insulating or not bother at all

Has there been any tests with intake temps before/after heatwrap?

I'm thinking (atleast on turbo cars) that with the turbo up to temp, intake temps won't be noticeably different as the intercooler does 99% of the cooling and a couple of degrees cooler before the turbo will just get swallowed up when it hits 500°+ fan blades.

Yeah that stuff should be okay as i noticed when looking in the bays of the british touring cars they are mostly all using the gold foil so kf they use it surely should be worth a try

im looking at doing this aswell mainly to just reduce the noise of my neuspeed intake not for any gains just to see if it makes it quieter lol
