Is there much room around the usb socket in the Ibiza?

Reason I ask is that my car wont be delivered untill Feb/March, but I thought I could get a 32Gb memory stick for Christmas, but I don't want to end up getting one to find its too bulky to fit in the plug.

Additionally is there a limit to the size of memory stick the headunit can read?
32gb would hold all my music, and save me having to buy the iPod cradle, and I could leave the memory stick in the car permanently, but theres no point in buying a memory stick that large if the headunit has a limit.

So you have ordered ipod prep?

Didnt realise the USB socket could be used on its own, cool.

Yup, ordered iPod prep but don't really want to pay for the cradle at the moment so I was just going to plug in a memory stick.

I discovered it on youtube - some guy had a video of his car playing music from the usb.

I think there iks an 8GB limit. (i dont have it but i know from a Leon and my Passat..). The manual says about this limit. And also on such large usb memory (if it accepts it) you will have to cope with long loading times.

Hmmmm, I have ordered the i-Pod prep on my Boca too which says in cup. I know this goes in one of the cup holders in front so where does this whole cradle thing fit then?

I just connected a 320GB portabble Hdd (powered by Usb, no external power needed) into a leon (facelift) and it could read it with no problems. The new ibiza has the same unit so there will be no problem. The format was FAT32. It will not accept others (ex. NTFS)
