USB port

Hi everyone

First timer here... just bought a 13 plate Altea XL SE Copa (1.6TDI) and loving the car so far. Fancied the extra toys on the brand new i-tech variant but couldn't wait for 2nd hand ones to hit the market!

I had a quick question though and can't seem to be able to find an answer. I've got the USB port (CUP) under the armrest (with the SEAT media system 2.2) and i wondered what people are actually using it for?

I know there's a special cable you need to buy to connect an ipod/iphone but what about other phones? I presumed you could just use the normal USB charging / data transfer cable.

I have a Nokia with loads of music on it but when i plug it in it doesn't play the music (in fact it doesn't even charge or recognise anything has been plugged in). We have a VW too and never had any problem with non-iphones so I'm a bit confused.

Any help would be massively appreciated

Thanks

Andy

I guess silence speaks volume... the USB port clearly isn't as useful as I hoped!

Bluetooth audio it is then!

I just checked mine on a 12 plate and it charges my HTC phone but does not play music, but it plays music from a memory stick on the MDI channel. Thats all I know. aggie

Thanks aggie, much appreciated

I'm going to try my wife's phone and if that doesn't charge either, i will take the car to the garage.

Going to try the memory stick too

I've got a 08 reg and I use a memory stick, not sure if you've got the same head unit but it only recognises 6 albums as it thinks it's multi changer.
