Hi all,

After some urgent help as I'am now in the Sh*t!!!!

Has anyone got a part No for the metal Oil Seal that press's onto the Rear Stub Axle (covering the stub axle bolts) before installing the disk/bearings!!!!

Local stealer can't help as their systems down and the VW dealer needs a part No to cross reference!!!

Many thanks

It's part of the wheel bearing kit - I don't think it's an individually available part

Tell VW dealer it's a mk2 golf gti 1.8 16v

Forgot to mention which car its for!!

99 T Ibiza GTi Cupra Sport (6K) with Lucas rear disks and ABS.

It was'nt part of the bearing kit (Genuine VAG/Seat) - that has a rubber/plastic seal (inner disk) that I've already fitted to the disk. I think this is additional protection, of about the same diameter, and as I said presses/slides onto the axle.

The haynes manual indicates when removing the stub axle, after removing the disk/bearings this metal oil seal needs prising off to access the heads of the stub axle bolts. It says that it will be destroyed on removal but says nothing about obtaining a replacement! (Next time I'll read on before I start mangling things!!!)

Thanks!
