right i was changing some of the vaccum hoses yesterday and in doing so i decided top change the loaction of the hose running into the back of the gauge, its now on the brake servo hose, once i got everything back together i took it for a quick drive and now when it boost the needle in the gauge vibrates like made! have i done something wrong or broken something?

also in changing some of the hoses i broke the Y Piece that connects 3 vacuum hoses together over the top of the rocker cover, i have replaced this with a t- piece, would this make any difference!

thing is i have to use me car 2moz for work so need to geth it sorted today!

hope some1 can help me!

I did the same with the "Y" Piece and replaced it with a "T" Piece, i haven't noticed a change but then again i don't have a boost gauge.

I can't imagine it would, tbh!

unfortunatly some ppl find this on some gauges. wot make is it? is it a quality product? u might have to plug the brake servo hose and hose ya gauge back up to dv or fpr to get it displaying properly

swapping the junction piece wouldnt have any effect at all,

if ur gauge is hosed in correctly to the brake servo hose, then it should be just a straight piece of vacuum hose to ur gauge and nothing else?

possible it could be down to the quality of the hose, the thickness of the hose or the quality of the boost gauge. it could even be a split in the brake servo hose or the vac hose

when my gauge was hosed in to the brake servo nipple it made my gauge needle vibrate really bad. I T-pieced it into the fpr line and that sorted the problem. Also works fine t-pieced into dump valve hose

Personally i'd T it into the dump valve hose..

Then all you'll loose if the guage fails is boost, rather than brakes!

thanks lads! i have now used to t - piece and hocked it up to the fpr line! it now doesnt vibrate so looks like i might have sorted the problem!

the only problem now is that i have to try and get hold of another green cap for the brake servo hose coz i cut the old 1 off! OPPS!

what PSi did ever1 get on a standard cupra? coz mine is only reading 4 - 5 PSi! is that right?

used 3mm siicone hose but 4mm is fine also. Mine is t-pieced into fpr line. Check all the hoses on top of the engine. i have changed all mine for 3mm silicone hose as some looked a bit dodgy

OH DEAR! i take it the only way to fine the leak is to replace all the old hoses wiv new 1's? JAMBOJONES10 i tried to push the silicone hose into the back of the gauge and it would go in there it just leaked like made!

i have got 4mm hose but now im thinking i shopuld scrap all of that and order some 3mm! i dont know if the 1mm would make any kind of a difference but i spose it would be better to use the same size hose that was on there b4?

it thought it was going to be quite easy to change a few pipes but know its turning into a nightmare!

JAMBO would it be possible to post a pic of ur engine bay up?

not every ibiza is the same mate so don't worry its between 4-8 psi my ibiza was 10bhp down on standard before it was remaped so i was boosting about 5psi dont think you have a leak

i want to know if that 1mm difference will make any difference in the long run? coz im looking at getting it chiped soon!

would it be worth using 3mm instead of 4mm?

jambojones:- how did u get the silicone hose to stay in the back of the gauge? mine wouldnt stay in there and leaked like mad when u turn me car on! also where did u get the switchable live from for your gauge?

The 1mm wont make any difference really. Got the switchable live from the back of the headlight switch:
