Hi all,

im trying to replace the SMIC to throttle hose on the LC180
got the original one off no problem, struggling to get the forge one on badly!

for those who have these, did you have to cut the throttle/smic end down? just driving me insane trying to get it on and need the car to run

any help appreciated
anyone close to leeds area would get a big thankyou and probably a cash incentive to help me with it today

well,
no, fitting it well wasnt the issue

big thanks to dodson for his advice, a warning to all buying these hoses-you will have to manually cut 2-3 inches off the end of the pipe or it will not fit

Really? Thats weird - i would have thought that forge would make them the right size to start with - and I certainly didnt need to cut down my Samco.

yep i had to cut mine down, otherwise the hose was kinda flattened down and would hamper the airflow.

yep, it was folding near the throttle body as it was too long

same as me mate, i did mention it to Forge last week, there response was to send the hose back and they would cut it more neatly than what i had.

I only informed them so that they were aware of the problem :)

they are very difficult to cut straight, looks a bit of a mess really but it fits and its low down behind the headlight so you dont see it

btw, 2-3 inches of mangled forge hose for sale
hah

I use that line a lot:p

seriously now then.....if you do have to cut the hose and want a reasonably neat finish then just mark the hose to the right length, tighten a hose clip around the hose at the mark and then trim using the hose clip as the guide with a sharp craft type knife.
