Urgent Help Need With Fault Code

Hi

Just had the engine management light pop up. Drove home and connected it to VAG COM (free-version) which came up with this fault:-

P0101 - 35-10 - f - Intermittent


Could anyone please tell me what this is?
Quicker the better really as I don't want to drive to work tomorrow if it is going to cause any harm.

Sorry, I think the fault is:-

16485 P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Range/Performance

Is this right?

If so, what does this mean and what is wrong?

IS the car safe to drive?

think its your MAF sensor sir, should'nt cause any problems, so ok to drive, but may lower performance. but sure someone cleverer will tell yu exact problem.

Why did you find it, or was it just a regular check, engine light on???

did u erase the code and see if it comes up again after a drive , hows the car feel

Yeah the engine management light came on so came straight home.

Will the MAF sensor be covered under warranty do you know Ant?

EDIT , if you have a performance filter id remove it and fit a standard one first

Thanks stoney, yes I've cleared the cod. Light didn't pop up again when I started the engine but haven't taken it for another drive yet to see if it re-appears.

Car felt fine though, exactly the same as normal when the light came on.

just take it easy in the morning , prob just a hiccup , rescan 2moro when u get home , id say the code wont be there , ive had a few "phantom" codes
