Hi all, ordered my new sach organics clutch from Competition braking products for my leon cupra tdi (Mk1). i paid £612 for it and i was lead to believe that it incld the flywheel. gave it to mechanic and he says the flywheels missing. its just the clutch and pressure plate. phoned CBP up and they say a new standard flyweel is £287. he offers no advice to whether i should renew this. iv got it remapped to 280 torque and getting slip. what should i do guys? stick with a new standard DMF or a SMF? how much is an SMF and where can i get one?

AND the flipping red stuff pads (£100) i got from CRN are totally not for my car at all, i pray to god the 312mm disks (£90) i got from them are right. i asked for leon cupra tdi Mk1 standard fitment pads. is this correct? and i asked for 225bhp TT 312mm front disks. is this right also?

Im worried to f*ck as its alot of money and hassle im gona be going through next few days. modding cars is just so expensive! cars in garage now and im freaking out.

thanks for any advice guys.

Replacement of the dmf will be down to your choice really.
If your car has done over 50k then i would say definitely do it while the box is off.
Personaly I would do it as a matter of course regardless of mileage. I had my car mapped to 350lbft on a 13k flywheel and after 6k its already making a noise when I change gear.
Can you afford another £200 labour to take the box off again should the dmf give up soon after fitting the new clutch. And id its already slipping well I would not risk it myself.

The cars done 48k and im definatly gona replace the flywheel. its just should i replace it with a new standard DMF? will it cope with the extra power or will it pack in again after 10K or go with a SMF? the mechanic suggests SMF as he thinks these are better. Do you know how much these cost and who can supply them?

cheers

Good advise by Glynn.

Yes replace it with a standard DMF. With the uprated clutch it should last for quite a while.
