Upgrading the audio?

Going to look at a few Cupras tomorrow and i want a whole upgrade of the audio when i buy one.

How easy is it ie: a new head unit being as it looks like n all in one unit... I'm planning to spend a few grand. Is there any adapter plate or anything that can let me choose my own head unit but not look a mess.

Thnaks for help
Dave

head unit is a mission. most people seem to have it under steering wheel or in glove box..
But it is do able.

so i can just place the head unit on the glove box then as i'll keep everything in tact if it can be done that way.

I have my eye on some gensis amps a decent pair of comps and a decent sub.

otherwise grab yourself a JL audio cleansweep, allows you to keep the oiginal headunit and the device makes a clean low output from this. Much better than your cheap £6.99 hi/low level converter but also a hell of a lot more expensive, around £300. Unfortunately you also lose the use of the factory volume nob, you have to use one thats supplied with the cleansweep, but of course with a bit of playing you could fit it in the place of the factory volume control.

''Harrys Cupra'' now that you've done this modification have you lost any of the features on the console i.e climate control etc etc or is everything normal.:)
