Upgraded clutch or upgraded fly and clutch... options

Im still using the standard 2l 16v gearbox on my 1.8T conversion. Im using the 2l 16 clutch and flywheel aswell, but if just paid for a k04 setup which should take me to around 270 bhp which im guessing the stock clutch wont hold.

do i upgrade to the VR6 clutch and G60 flywheel or just bang an upgraded clutch on the 2l 16v fly?

whats the benefit of the vr6 and G60 combo?

any clutch kit you can recommend? if i did go for the vr6 g60 lot, would a standard clutch cope? just seen now that theyre only 228mm diameter

VR6 clutch..... thats what I have got and I know a few of the 20vT lot use them, straight fit!

The G60 flywheel is basically the same as the 16v. Just get the 16v one lightened, I have lost half the weight off mine, go onto ClubGTi and look for "Hot Golf" he does a lot of gearboxes, etc... for the boys on there.

I'm running valver flywheel and standard sachs vr6 clutch in mine still "touch wood" no signs of wear or slipping yet, it's done approx 8k on k03s and 3k on k04 hybrid, it's going to give up at some point but untill it does i'll leave it alone

Ko3 is a turbo from the Ibiza 1.8 20vT....... ko3s Audi A3 (correct me), ko4 Leon, TT, etc...

It's common to use the 02A box from the 16v. Strong box fair do's!

I'm using the mk3 02J box in mine, except for the diff bolts letting go (faulty bolts) it's been spot on and hasn't missed a beat

There's a few similarities between mk2 02A and mk3 02J boxes so i'd guess it will be okay, as with most things on these cars only time will tell

why the vr6 clutch over the normal 16v clutch if anyone knows?

i got a lightend flywheel and performance clutch on my G60 (mk2 golf) if you look on Edition38 there are a few traders who will sort you out. think strictly dubs did mine, including all new bolts and delivery.
