Undertray, getting hold of one

I'm looking to get hold of a new undertray, after managing to knacker the cars original one from scaping it along some unven ground.

The dealers are quoting £150 which I think is a bit steep for what is essentially a plastic tray. I'm wondering if I can get hold of one independently as I guess it shouldn't be that difficult to fit.

Anyone know of somewhere I could source this from? Cheers

Didn't someone post sometime ago that without a undertray there was a risk of damage to some part of the engine which will cost £100's.

The plastic one's are nowhere near that price. There are three sections - middle and two side pieces. My centre bit was about £20 from a dealer. I think the side pieces are about £15?

There's a VW Golf one that costs about £150 ish which is steel not plastic. There was a recent article in something like VW Driver about using them as sump protection on 20VT cars.

Steel?

We used to use Dural for sump guards because it was lighter.

(Spectacular firework display on a rocky road from the magnesium content :D )
