Tyres for my LCR

Afternoon Chaps,

Now i am sorry to say that i have to ask a Tyre related question. I have had a good search around on here and the recommendation is Eagle F1 Asym's. There is also the mention of GSD3's. I am not sure on the difference between the two - the only thing i can see is that the GSD are discontinued??

I have seen people say that they can find the Asym's for about £115 but i am seeing prices closer to £140 (some people even said from a mobile tyre fitter). Any suggestions??

And again guys sorry for another tyre question

Cheers

The Asymmetric replaces the old GSD3, try camskill for tyres they are about £105 ish in your size. The asymmetric has been winning most of the big tyres tests, but in its day so did the GSD3.

Both sites are priced for delivery, I think camskill charge £2ish per tyre extra for delivery. Mytyres do offer the option of fitted. Also tyretraders are worth a look they can be quite good on price and offer fitting.
If you get them delivered most tyre places only charge you about a tenner a wheel to fit tyres but some can be awkward.

For easy and conveniece i have booked with etyres. They are coming tomorrow and its £120 a corner - so not bad at all. Means that i can get them fitted at work and dont have to waste petrol going to get them.

I had two Goodyear F1 Assy tyres for my Cupra (std wheels) two weeks ago from Selly Oak Tyres in Birmingham. Cost £85 fitted (incl VAT).

They had the GSD3 for the same price as well. They also did a front to back switch at no extra cost.

The only difference I can tell at the moment between theses and the GSD3's is that there is less tyre noise.

Quite like the Pirelli's myself, gotta set of Eagle F1's part worn in the shed for after these wear, but Previously had Falkens - Horrible tyres, worst I have ever driven, and Yokohama Paradas - Wear extremely quick but brilliant traction. But those were on a Vauxhall Astra SRi

What do people think of the Toyo Proxes T1-R?

Very comparable to the Goodyears but I find they last slightly longer. Much cheaper as well from Camskill. I have just bought some more for my LCR. Highly recommend them.

Well after booking mytyres to come and fit the GSD3's they decided after many calls to them as they had not contact me that they didnt have them in stock. A few argumenets later and they had agreed to fit the F1 Asym's for a few quid extra - so not a bad result. Got the card of the bloke that did the fitting and will just buy direct from now on.
