can a small difference in tyre pressure such as about 1 or 2 psi, make a big difference in the quality of the ride in the car?

i have a 1.4 99 plate with mk3 cupra wheels and 195/45/16 tyres, and i normally keep the pressures around 32psi front and 30psi at the rear

i checked these the other week and now after a few days to a week, the handling on my car is so much better. before going into corners the car seemed unsure on the handling, but the last few days it has been spot on and i can take corners much quicker

it does this but does not seem to happen all the time, has anybody else had this occur to them? the feel of the car through the steering wheels has never been great and that is still the same, but at the moment the car feels more stable though the corners with that been the only difference

over inflated will result in less tyre contact with the road therefore worse cornering but better mpg, low tyre pressure will result in more tyre contact with the road therefore better cornering but worse mpg.

It says on the inside of the fuel flap what the best pressures are.

well for 185/60 tyres which were the original ones it said 30 front and 28 rear, as i said i run them at 32 front and 30 rear currently

just seems really odd that currently my car feels great, where other times it feels unsure while cornering:confused:

has done just under 75k and i have not touched anything suspension wise, no idea if it has been looked at before i got it at 57k either

at 75k the suspension wont be in its best condition if its original, my 1.4 got very ropey to the point of actually scaring me at 75k. I sold the car instead of replacing it.

well i think it needs replacing, probably the whole kit i would guess

can't really afford a new car atm, and i am not sure if new suspension is worth it as i want a new car at some point
