Hi

Can someone give me the pressures from a 1.9TDI. Wheels are the standard 16" alloys.

The label under the fuel cap is missing and the manual doesn't have them in either!!

Cheers

If I remember rightly, on the electric compressor in the boot there is a sticker with the pressure printed thereon.

Thanks for the reply,

But I have a spare wheel and no electric compressor.

I even called a dealer yesterday.... guess what, they didn't call me back! All they had to do was go out to a TDI out on the fourcourt and look under the fuel cap..

So if anyone can find it...please post.

I did do a search, (thats the first thing to try here:)) and did see the picture you put up a while back, but just thought as yours is petrol it could be different to the diesel.

There is a 30kg difference in the front axel weight between the petrol and the diesel. Just checked the manual:)

Thanks for the reply, always appreciated on this forum:lol:

Hello processpaul,

sorry, didn't want to offend you in any way ... it's just that I'm pretty often confused about threads that do deal with the same topic as several others before ... they get 2 answers and seem to be forgotten by then.

You're right that there might be a slight difference, especially as mine (SportEdition) was delivered with 17" instead of the 16" you're driving.

Still, the difference will be marginal.

best regards ... Klaus

Just taken a quick pic of my fuel filler flap showing tyre pressures (1.9 TDI Stylance - standard 16" tyres). As Klaus says not a lot of difference between his and mine. Basically front pressures differ a little under light load. Pressures are the same under full load

Klaus

Was not offended in the slightest. Everyones input here is appreciated.

Hobbit, thanks so much for the picture. Thats what i needed. I might call Seat to see if one can be provided for me as this is quite an important item to be missing dont you think.

Now a dilema....I have been putting in 35psi front, and 32psi rear. This is what i was told and was written in my handbook by the salesperson at the dealers.

Now one front tyre looks overly worn in the centre and this could explain why.

What do think to requesting new tyres as was given the wrong infomation?

Thanks for the help so far:lol:

Hi processpaul,

as the given pressure values are more or less recommended reference values, I'd see no serious way of reclaiming new tyres.

It's not only the weight or load that might differ, even the tyre manufacturers recommend unique pressure along with their different models & sizes ... and they might differ from what the car's manual is telling you.

And at car clubs you'll often be advised to use a little more pressure than usually recommended to gain more mileage and to prevent the tyres from beeing worn to much by tumbling at low pressure ...

So ... as I see it ... it's a matter of attitude ... if not religion ... ;)

greets ... Klaus

Hi, processpaul,
You posted a reply to one of my threads earlier, about installing a cd changer in the armrest. I'm sorry to get back to you this way (and all my apologies to the followers of this thread), but as a 'newbie' I don't think I can send private messages to other members. Yes, I could do with a few pointers with regards to how to dismantle the centre console (or even a step by step guide :) ) if that was at all possible...
I'll be eagerly awaiting your reply. Apologies again for getting hold of you this way, and for trespassing on this thread.
