Morning,

I have a 2016 leon se dynamic 1.2tsi. I'll be looking to replace the front tyres both are still factory fitted dunlop sport maxx rt 225/45/17 91w and have covered just under 22k.

I was looking at replacing like for like as I've had no trouble with them and are rated b for fuel which is a plus. A local tyre firm recommended pirelli p7s over the dunlop and are the same price. £75 per tyre fitted

Should i stick with the dunlops or change to a different brand such as the pirelli

Had p7s on my superb mk3 sportline and they were terrible! Noisy and grip level was poor.

My front two are Dunlop and back two are yokohama, must be my back two which are crap with my car skidding when setting off in first then, thought it could be front two with been front wheel drive.

How could the back be the issue in a front wheel drive car when pulling away?

There's a lot to be said for sticking to tyres you know and like.

That’s what I said, I thought I was the front but with them been Dunlop tires I’m not sure now

Looking for a little advice. Ive recently fitted a tyre pressure monitoring system all is good and quite impressed but it is showing the n/s/f unit tyre as up to 160psi when running.
Tyres are 120psi cold, temps are fine 40-50 when hot
o/s/f maxes at about 140.

150 seams very high but all seems fine

Any advice or ideas

Tyres should be around 35 psi

Are you sure you've got those pressures right? If you've converted them from other units, I suggest you either quote the original readings or check your conversion because something's definitely wrong.

My tyres are marked with a max. pressure rating of 340 kPa (3.4 bar or 50 psi). I dread to think what would happen if I inflated them to 120 psi (if I could even find a pump to run that high).

It's like the person on the forum who mis-read the rpm meter with 50,000 rpm redline in their diesel engine! Wonder if jet engines spin that fast!
