I'm 99% sure I get that EGR related code due to my blanking off of the EGR. Is it possible one of his vacuum hoses has popped off at either the box end, or on the EGR itself? The one doesn't sound serious - perhaps a result of a voltage blip.

I'll check the vacuum pipes then,,, thanx.

I've read on tdiclub that the other code could be related to the 109 relay,,, I thought this was just for non-pd engines,,, here we're talking 1.9 101hp,,, what do you think?

I've no idea on the first code sorry. The control panel ECU I think is the convenience ECU which is located in all the stuff under/behind the steering wheel, in the dash. This controls all stuff like the alarm/air vents/central locking I believe.
