twin exhausts on a 1.9tdi stylance

My 2005 black magic Altea 1.9tdi Stylance has a twin exhaust complete with chrome cover. I was just wondering if this was an option on this model, I know that you get twin exhausts on the 2.0 tdi, but I havn't seen any other 1.9's with twin exhausts. I'm not complaining as it looks great, but I was thinking about the cost of replacements in the future. The dealers didn't know the answer.Any thoughts?

Not sure on the 1.9 but on my 2.0 the twin pipes are an aftermarket fit and can be removed if you need to replace the exhaust. I wouldn't worry too much as exhausts on diesels last upto 10 years hence you probably won't ever have to change it in your ownership.

My 1.9 Reference has twin outlets, I think it depends on the engine code tbh. When you say twin exhausts, do you mean 2 separate systems from the manifold, or 2 outlets from the backbox?

Hi Ian, they're std on the 2.0tdi Sport, not sure on other variants, mines std and has twin outlets, it's just that yours has the dealer supplied chrome upgrade ones, they're slightly bigger looking if i remember correctly. How's things ?, all right ?.

I am all right Phil how are you.

I know twin pipes are standard but I was trying to point out that the chrome pipes are an optional extra which I got fitted and are removable if the exhaust is replaced. Does the 1.9 then only come with a single pipe as standard ?

Fine thanks, just looking forward to Christmas !!.

Sorry for confusion with our pipes :D.

I only ever saw single pipes on 1.9's.
