Turn signal sound not working

Hi there.

Just received my car and 3 days later the turn signal sound and a hazard light sound disappeared somewhere. I've also noticed, that previously when you engage in reverse, the system first produced a beep to let you know, but now it is silent. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Not the biggest bother on its own, just disappointing that something like a blinker can be faulty on the 3rd day of ownership.

Seems to be some fuse that shorted ?
i checked the manual with the description of the positions of various fuses and didn't find anything, that is related to turn signal speaker or smth like that. turn signals themselves are still working. will anyhow check the fuse box later whether any is visibly blown

Is this behavior that you're describing happening over several different trips?
I'm asking because I've heared about such a "bug" before, on Octavia forum (basically the same infotainment, electronics and control modules), and the symptom that you're describing was gone after the car was stopped, closed and restarted.

yes, over several trips. it is constantly present. even when the car is closed overnight.

Ouch, sorry to hear that...
It sounds like a job for the dealership.
Did you try a reboot of the infotainment system? It's long press (about 10 seconds) on the ON/OFF button.

the problem with the dealership is that here in Cyprus it is not possible to get there for the diagnostics quickly( waiting for this step as well, thought it might be fixed some other way in the meantime.
rebooting the infotainment system didn't help, tried that.

a quick update for those who are interested:
I managed to get to the dealership, they obviously couldn't help, since they have never faced the issue, sent the logs to the manufacturer for guidance on how to proceed.

Now I'm waiting for the new dash since according to the manufacturer this should fix the issue.

In the meantime, it evolved through several stages:
  1. other sounds disappearing (unfastened seatbelt alarm sound)
  2. tapping noise appearing from the dashboard area (as if the turn signal sound was sped up a couple of times and always on)
  3. all sounds getting back to the norm
  4. all sounds including this ridiculous tapping being present
  5. everything disappearing again
So, overall fun times. But other than that the car is a beast on mountain roads, launches and stops like a violent mf. Hope new dash will fix the issue and there will be nothing but enjoyment :)

to close the topic, the new dash solved the issue. all the sounds are back, to ticking noises.
