I had a thought earlier about how hard it will be to turbo the 2.0 8v. I think i've got a good base engine to add a turbo but wanted to know if it'll be to difficult. i know a really good mecanic who can make me up a manifold to hold the turbo, i'm sure i can find/make a oil feed for the turbo and getting the pipework and intercooler wont be to much trouble but what else have i got to do?

custom downpipe but sounds like you could prob fabricate that too?

after market management system?

been talked about before and it would just be more simple dropping a 20vt in

1 main problem could be space, the exhaust manifold is under the intake manifold isn't it? could be complicated

do you know what the internal components you've fitted are rated too?

even with low boost say 10psi and the nos, standard engine would get blown to pieces i think. I think you'd almost certainly have to run something like emerald

as for fuelling, i wouldnt increase the injectors by much, depends what power he'd aim for

everything for my engine is from tsr performance (pistons alone cost £1000)and they said that it would handle 200 bhp (with a progressive controller) jets of nos increase so i thought i could have a turbo that would boost at around about 8 psi. the only thing i would get stuck on is if i've got to run different managment.

go for a supercharger if you want to be totally different, easier in a sense to be fitted aswel

It's never as straight forward as bolting the turbo on and changing the fueling.. The compnay I work for used to do turbo conversions os some vehicles. It was never straight forward and doing this sort of thing, even with a competent mechanic, is going to be a hard task.

Like someone already said, drop a 20vt in there.. much easir in the long run..

For Supercharging all the bits are more or less in existance for the 8v,

Simply look for Golf or Corrado G60 units as these were 1.8 8v but essentially the same as the AGG 2.0 8v. It's a pig to reuse the semos injection system as you can't do much to it so that would have to be binned in favour of a modded G60 or Emerald system.

Most of the layout is similar in the engine bay with the excaption of airbox and manifold which are easy to fabricate.

This is pretty old school stuff so most of the bits have been around for ages. It works exceptionally well.

Jabba Sport in Northamptonshire is the place to go for a conversion and bits if you want to go down the supercharged route.
