1.8T fr 06 plate revo stage 1

Just had some really worrying noise from turbo (i think) when needing some torque to overtake. Driving lightly there is no noise but sounds like a mix between a slipping belt and something mechanical catching (sorry for poor description)

any ideas ??? Should I be worried

that is a poor description! but could maybe be the start of the clasic manifold bolts coming loose if it is it will eventually get louder and eventually will sound like your manifold has fallen off very common fault on the 1.8t ibizas revo stage 1 should be enough to cause the turbo to fail but it could happen

does it only happen when giving it a bitta beans??? what about when its idling?? smells??? ect ect

Sorry it was late!
Started after driving it for 30 mins in fifth on motorway overtaking going from 60 mph to 70 mph.
Could be described as sounding like a grating noise
Only happens when giving it some "beans" but not booting it.
Turbo spools up and happens a few seconds after that, at about 3800 / 4000rpm.
Only smell I have noticed is unburnt fuel when I park up sometimes?
Idle sounds ok but very feint rattle at fast idle (might just be in my head).
Pulls ok does not seem to change performance. It is not so noticable when going through rev range or at idle or if not giving any "beans" Tried this morning just around the block only did it after it had been running for 10 15 mins.
No fault codes shown on Vag Com.

if its a screeching gridy noise its the turbo to manifold bolts next time you go for a drive as soon as you pull up at your destination keep the engine running pop the bonnet and smell round the back of the engine if you can slightly smell exhaust fumes then its that!

Could not smell exhaust fumes under the bonnet as windy here today but extremely hot under the bonnet more so than normal would this fit in?
Will it have to go back to Seat to have this fixed?
