Warm the Turbo up in the morning and conversly warm/cooldown the Turbo after a long or short journey.

Thanks.

Turbos get very hot when used hard. If i thrash mine i always make sure that the last 5 mins of driving are off boost and at low revs. On starting up the car i dont rev it hard or use boost for the first 15-20mins. Let the oil and water circulate long enough to both heat everything up properly on start up and also give the oil and water enough time to remove heat from the turbo etc on shut down.

Madmile many thanks for the prompt reply.

Makes sense to me perfectly apart from the term "off boost"

I presume the turbo kicks in at a certain rev range and if so is this the point you term as "boost"
Conversly off boost is the rev range the turbo idles????

Basically dont rev the car hard and it wont produce boost. Just take it steady for the first 15mins of your journey and easy for the last 5-10mins and it will be fine. Check your oil regulary and change it as Seat require.
