Turbo Problem - (sounds like a kettle) anyone for Tea?

I am having a problem with my 1.8T. 80,000 miles
I have had a REVO remap but i think this problem may have started before, but not to this extent.
Car drives well and seems to be holding boost........but only when the boost level reaches maximum there is an almighty loud whistle. I mean this can be heard for miles!

It sounds just like an old fashion kettle when the water is boiling. Beside the obvious embarrassment it causes, IM having to hold back on the right foot to avoid deafening local wildlife.

Due to the fact this whistle only happens under maximum boost IM thinking it must be turbo related??

I have full samco (except TIP) so shouldn't be any leaks?

Any thoughts to save my embarrassment would be appreciated.

Il take off the TIP and see how that looks.
I would have thought however if it was the intake (which is in vacum??) it wouldnt be able to produce such a loud noise. Although could be an excuse to purchase a nice forge one.

Il try and check all the pipe work, which will have to include all the metal pipes.

Is there a technique to finding cracks or splits. Without all the pressure the splits may not be visable?

It has been suggested that the turbo may be over spinning??

Thanks for your help

Im glad im not the only one!
Ive got a nasty aftermarket back box, which you could barely class as an exhaust.
Do you think its related?

I odnt think so by the sounds of it i was just wondering how similar our two cars were as the problem seems the same but ive only got 20k on mine so hopeing the turbos not foooooked.

Went around every possible hose i could find at the weekend to try and find a leak and nothing so mines lookingto be that way

It could be there is a fracture in the metal pipework which only exposes itself under high pressure.

I may try and get on a rolling road and leave it running under high boost and check the pipework again.

I sent my Dump Valve back to Bailey as i thought it was the cause of the whistle (I thought it wasnt closing and boost was escaping)

It is atmospheric and i had noticed that it was passing and also venting oil all over the bonnet.

The guys a Bailey said that the oil was coming from the turbo.
Either the Turbo bearings have gone/going
or
The seals on the Turbo have gone/going
