hi, been running my cupra now with a splitr dumpvalve on which which is only 2years old, car isnt remapped as of yet but did make the normal sound of a splitr which was fine until i went for a run down the M6 the other day pulled up at the services to notice my dumpvalve was chattering, it does it under low boost the most but when giving it some it hardly makes a noise, so i put my old 007p forge dump vavle on i have also got a jr open cone filter on and when sat still and revved it i got a slight noise not a chatter though, but when driven no noise at all, put my splitr back on now and back comes the chatter, and suggestions on what this could be as i know its not good at all, i have 3mm vac pipes on and have adjusted the top spring to no joy. thanks

Dont know how true it is with the split R diverter valves but i know with mine, when it starts to chatter it means its on its way out. Can cause damage i was told.

spring is too tight! i run constant chatter cos i have no dv or recir and the air runs back over the turbo blades as causes acurator to flutter this gives your chatter noise

either loosen your dv. as it is probably adjusted to tight

i have messed about with the adjuster on the top and even round it fully anticlock wise and it still sounds the same no matter where it is adjusted, it does chatter more on low boost yeah but when at high revs it isnt crisp and most times even silent? sounds like a flutter yeah but prefer it to be a crisp noise as it should be, mods goin to be done soon to performance so would be ideal to sort this out first.

the chatter is your turbo stalling (not good)
like someone has said, check your DV, put it in full recirc mode and see if it still does it.

also, check all your VAC lines, hoses etc etc

do you still have your original DV? or a full recirc dv you can swap with just to see if its your splitR?

is that not gradually killing your turbo?

will gradually kill a turbo but not all turbos!

wont kill mine as mine is alot bigger and stronger than yours.

like i said wind it all the way out. if it still aint work break it all apart and check piston is well lubricated. best oil to use is sewing machine oil!

compressor stall is unwanted regardless of its size.. increased wear and tear on the bearings for no good reason. cool sound, but at a cost over time.

yeah i have the full recirc one aswell the forge 007, when i put this on the other way mounted than my spitr so the 007 is sittin upright as should do when revvin at a stand still i get a slight hiss through my jetex open cone filter when let off throttle but when driving i get no noise at all or it is that quiet with bonnet shut i cant hear it, so get no chatter at all with the 007 on but want at least some noise but no chatter, it never use to do it it just happened all of a sudden after a long journey, will have to strip my splitr down first before i go into more depth i think.

Is your car boosting ok? My car seems to be fickle where lately it will only boost to 10-15psi (normally 20) so my oo7 is very quiet. When it decides to boost to 20psi is lovely and loud. Unplug your MAF?
