Turbo boost question

Hi all, second post :D

I've tried searching this but couldn't really find much.

I have a boost gauge fitted to my otherwise standard 110 asv now is it normal for the guage to flicker between 0 and 0.2 bar? Is this the so called "buzz"?

Also what is the standard boost pressure for a 110? Is it normal to spike (is that the right term?) to 1.5bar then drop to 1.1 then gradually drop off to 1?

I have the Gauge running off the plastic intake pipe before the egr.

I have no management lights pop up. Just wondering if this is the norm?

Cheers

Rich

hi Rich.
I too am after the standard boost figures for the asv engine as i have one in my mk2 toledo

How exactly did you attach your hose to the plastic boost pipe?
Its the only thing that i'm not sure of.

as for the flicker, i've read that if you put an inline fuel filter from something like a mini-moto then it'll soften the air comming through and give you steady readings.
something i'll be giving a go if mine flickers like yours.

Hi, I believe standard is a spike to about 17-18psi then settle at around 15psi

Hi, I believe standard is a spike to about 17-18psi then settle at around 15psi

yeah sounds about right after watching my gauge which i popped in last night and today
watching my gauge if i floor it in 3rd or 4th etc it does spike. But for me it shoots to about 1.5bar = 21.7psi on the odd occasion, but most of the time goes to (as you said) 1.25bar = 18psi

Then Holds 1bar = 15psi (well, 14.5 if you wanna be precise haha)

I think it's safe to say persistent full boost is 15psi

I dont know if it's me flooring it a bit more simply to watch my gauge flying around everywhere, or an actual side effect, but i have noticed a drop in fuel economy, by an average of 4 or 5 mpg.....?
